About Addiction Directions

Addiction Directions is a resource and referral center for those suffering from substance abuse and other addictions. We work with families and companies and offer a wide array of services from addiction consulting and education, performing interventions, referring substance abuse treatment services, to placing clients in our sober living homes.

John Fitzgerald

John Fitzgerald is the President of Addiction Directions. He entered into recovery in 2000. John began working in the substance abuse and drug recovery field as head of maintenance for Burning Tree Recovery Ranch and as a sober living home manager. He then moved to Montana to work for several years as a wilderness instructor at the Wilderness Treatment Center. John moved back to Texas to become the director of operations for Burning Tree Recovery Ranch. After several years at this position, he returned to school at Texas Tech and earned a B.A. in communications and substance abuse, graduating Cum Laude. John Fitzgerald moved to Austin immediatley after graduation to start up the Mark Houston Recovery Center, serving as their Chief Financial Officer. He began Addiction Directions in 2006.

Addiction Directions Staff

We work with both full-time staff and outside consultants. Our staff is a tightly formed group, all located in Austin, TX. We only work in alliance with and refer to individuals who we have 100% confidence in. The staff has a combined experience of sobriety and working in the substance abuse field of well over 200 years. All of our staff has extensive experience and training in clinical, experiential and 12-step models. Our staff is comprised of people who have recovered from addiction.
