“I cannot express to you how proud and excited I am for my step-daughter. You know I have been very guarded in her recovery process, mainly because of the past and “stuff” that I would not, or could not let go of. During her amends with me, I told her to “prove it – walk the walk – don’t talk the talk”. I can say that she has most definitely proven it to me and is walking the walk every day.

I met with her about a month or so ago and told her how proud I was of her recovery process, our slate has been wiped clean and the past is over. She has taught me patience, tolerance and forgiveness. I look forward to talking with her, when given the opportunity, because she is truly an inspiration to me. She has made me a believer in things that I truly did not understand.

I am proud to call her my stepdaughter.”

“I wanted to thank you so much for everything you, Kimberly and Libby have done for us in this entire process. I can’t tell you how much it means to us to know that she is safe and you all are there when necessary. Jessica has definitely not made this an easy process but I truly believe that things do happen for a reason and that it is God’s plan for Jessica to be there right now. In spite of that you and your staff have gone above and beyond for our family and we are truly blessed to have you all working with us. If I can ever be of service, let me know. I have no doubt that without Addiction Directions we would not be where we are currently in this recovery. I can’t imagine going through this without all of you.”

“Joe and I are just so very grateful for the ADAP program that Lane participated in…it was truly a blessing in itself that a program of this magnitude was available which helped Lane transition to life after MHR. As your literature suggests, it gave us great comfort knowing ADAP was there for Lane and that Joe and I could just be his mom and dad! Jeremy, you certainly played a big roll in Lane’s recovery… for 12 months you taught him so many things about life. Teacher, mentor, advocate – these are a few of the things that come to mind when I think of your relationship with Lane and our family.

I know on many occasions that Lane would share with me some of the books you recommended to him. Books that would not only help him grow as a man, but spiritually as well. With your guidance and perhaps a lot of direction he was able to discover so much more about himself and ultimately have his own experience. He is on his way to becoming the man that we knew God created him to be. He had knocked on the door of Lane’s heart many times over the years. We are so thankful that Lane finally answered!”

“I wanted to share with you my experience with DeSha Thomas. She is firstly a professional at all times. Secondly and most important she is kind and caring. DeSha has supported me thru really difficult times in my challenge to achieve sobriety. She always has the right words to bring me back to reality. I am not sure if I could move forward today without her support. I am grateful to have DeSha on my team even when I don’t deserve it. She holds me accountable and I am truly grateful for her in my life.”

“Very impressive report, btw. The phone records, the contacts, and the evaluations…I am very impressed with the depth and the amount of info that you provide for us. Thank you.”

“I can’t thank you enough for the work you have done with John.  What I’ve heard from him several times is that you’ve kept it real. His respect for you and the work he has accomplished has gotten him through some rough places in the road.  Regardless of the thoroughness (or lack thereof) of John’s follow-through on the program’s commitments, ADAP has been key to keeping him focused.  Your guidance was something he genuinely needed.”

“It has been a blessing to work with you. Thank you for all you have done to get Scott back on his feet in this last year. We  so appreciate you and the many hours you pour into the lives of these young men struggling for sobriety after rehab. Thank you for holding him accountable, believing in him, and walking him thru the darker days. You will always be an important part of Scott’s life and ours! Looking forward to celebrating 18 months with him August 1.”

“Thank you for the report on Austin. Every day brings more hope that his dreams can be fulfilled. We can not do it with out all of your support. We appreciate your efforts on behalf of Austin and his recovery and his family and their recovery.”

“Hi Eric, Thanks for the great thoughts. All is well with us! We are very proud of our son and of what he has accomplished the past two years! And we are so thankful for men like you to be a part of his recovery and his life! You do an awesome job!”

“Aftercare is a crucial part of recovery after treatment. It’s easy to say “my loved one should be well now”. However, nothing is further from the truth. After being institutionalized in treatment, then being released back into life is not only difficult, but scary. Years of old habits and old survival skills are still internally present. New habits and new survival skills must be formed and practiced. This transition works best with the assistance of a team of aftercare specialists. Addiction Directions is just that, specialists in the field of transition from treatment back to the world. My personal experience with Addiction Directions has been such a blessing. It has allowed me to have a relationship with my son without me having to be “the treatment center team”. They have provided a safe transitional home, lifestyle accountability, 12-step program accountability, weekly aftercare, drug/alcohol testing, and a wonderful recovery advocate named Jeremy who is always available at times of need for the not only my loved one, but for our family. For your aftercare needs, Addiction directions is just what the doctor ordered!” -Terry V.

I just keep thinking about what a great person the real D is, and I want so badly to have him back in our lives – his girls deserve to know that great guy. Thank you for reassuring him and me. I look forward to meeting you soon.” -Sandy C.

“I am pleased to enthusiastically affirm the skills and expertise of Mr. Dean Mosmeyer, who has served as a physical trainer for my son during that past year. Dean has been an exceptional source of support as my son has been on his journey of recovery for drug addiction. Dean has worked with my son both at mark Houston Recovery and the subsequent support program, Addiction Directions.”

“I just wanted you to know that I’m, celebrating 2 years today! I wanted to personally say THANK YOU to you and to Addiction Directions! I am very grateful to have met you and to be part of Addiction Directions! I needed all of you so desperately. Life is GOOD today – be blessed!” -Scott S.

“Deans support, encouragement and expertise have played a critical and vital role in helping my son manage his addiction and return to a life of balance, wholeness and health. Dean’s role in strategically and skillfully addressing the needs of body, mind and spirit through exercise and personal discipline have provided the precise help my son has needed in his recovery. We have nothing but praise and deep appreciation for Dean’s work.”

My wife and I have seen the results of Dean’s application of just the right balance of encouragement and physical challenge to help our son literally recover his life. And by passing on some of Dean’s tips and techniques to me through my son while I’ve had the joy of working out with my son, I feel like Dean has been a source of support to me. I offer my sincere thanks and appreciation for Dean Mosmeyer’s skill, dedication, and affirming support. He has been a key contributor to my son’s recovery.” -Steven B.

“I am so impressed with the work you do at Addiction Directions. You have worked with my son over the past six months and have changed him, inspired him and motivated him to continue staying sober. I no longer feel that he will regress because he has learned to set goals for himself and follow those goal and the path that it takes him to.

He is very aware of making the right decision and feeling so much success at doing the right thing. He has chosen to work full time and put himself through school at night. On nights when he is not at school, he can be found at some kind of support meeting for his addiction. Even when he returns home for weekends, he looks up friends he met in your program and they attend AA together.

I think you set a wonderful example to the people in your program and your follow-up is great. You know where everyone is all the time.

I thank you for your support to the family as well and enjoy the communications with you.

Thank you for a job VERY WELL done.” -Karen R.

“God bless you and the Mark Houston group for what you have done for us. I believe that somehow God lead me to MHR and you. Our son is attending church every week. It is so nice to have him back again. He is working every day and he is staying very busy. I spoke with his office manager and she said he is doing great and business is getting busy again. He has a lot to make up for, and seems to be committed to doing just that. He calls me several times a week and I see him every weekend. Thanks again for everything you have done. The turn-around has been amazing.” -Linda F.

“My husband and I will forever be grateful to Addiction Directions and our son’s counselor Jeremy Flemmons. His frequent phone calls and written reports helped us understand where our son was mentally and his progress toward successful sobriety. We were amazed at how well Jeremy understood our son’s personality. He knew how to talk with him and direct him without lecturing or shutting him down. Our son struggled with a sober life and many times refused Jeremy’s calls. Even though he didn’t want to hear what Jeremy has to say, he knew Jeremy actually cared about him and his sobriety. Jeremy kept reaching out and never gave up.
After eight months of sobriety our son relapsed. He wasn’t returning Jeremy’s calls. He was kicked out of his sober house and we lost touch with him. Our son has a history with withdrawals that include seizures and DTs. We feared for his safety, we feared for his life. I called Jeremy. Jeremy set the wheels in motion, he talked with a lot of people and finally located him. There were many messages on our son’s cell phone – the only one he returned was from Jeremy. He reached out to the man who had established a trusting relationship with him.
Jeremy found a place in northern Texas that could handle a withdrawal with medical needs. They would pick our son up in Austin. He told only Jeremy where he was and Jeremy waited with him through the transport. Jeremy also found a place to store his car and drove it there. Our son went through his withdrawal without complications and stayed on for the rehab program. He then moved to a sober apartment in Dallas.
So far sobriety is going better than ever. We love our son and want to support him in a sober life. Jeremy has helped us understand our enabling. We have made progress but still have much to learn. I don’t know what the future holds but I do know we skirted a major disaster with an enormous amount of help from Addiction Directions and Jeremy Flemmons.
Thank you so much for your wonderful program.” -Deana L.

“Addiction Directions has guided me through a very difficult time due to my son’s drug addiction. N has been in the program 13 weeks after an inpatient time of 90 days. Addiction Directions has set up his program and monitors his recovery in a professional and effective program. I am very thankful and happy with the support and the monitoring of N. Thank you for everything.” -Izzy S.

“Choosing to place our son in the care of Eric Button was one of the best decisions toward a successful recovery that we made. After visiting several other sober housing facilities, we were very impressed with the physical appearance of Mr. Button’s transition home, and also the manner in which it was organized and structured. Each member of the home is expected to follow rules and be responsible for duties. Mr. Button respects the needs of the individual, but also understands the importance of group cooperation. Under his supervision, infractions have consequences and good behavior is rewarded. Fortunately, our son will be celebrating 2 years of sobriety in October of 2009. We gratefully credit Mr. Button for being a positive influence and mentor to our son during this difficult time. With his guidance, our son has matured and gained self esteem and confidence in order to help others.” -Karen C.
